Thanks for sharing your ideas on the building blocks of Edmonton’s great new neighbourhoods. A lot of great ideas, comments and photos were shared over the past two weeks.
The project team is combing through your feedback now and will post the “big ideas” on June 4, 2012 on the project’s website. The feedback will be shared with the project’s Design Team, who are actively drafting the guidelines. They will use the feedback we’ve received over the last weeks to build the draft guidelines.
The Design Team is looking forward to hearing about what the general public and key groups think is important about new neighbourhood design. Involving a variety of groups with diverse areas of interest and expertise at different stages and in different capacities in the project is essential for success. Thanks for sharing your ideas with us!
Just so you know, the Design Team is made up of a diverse group of about 30 people from the local development, urban design, and home building industries, as well as members of the City’s Administration, the Edmonton Federation of Community Leagues, Edmonton’s Schools Boards, and the University of Alberta’s City-Region Studies Centre.
The Design Team’s work to draft the design guidelines is being supported by a dedicated project team and external consultants with expertise in facilitation and consultation, design and visual identity, and neighbourhood scenario development modeling.
